So sad.

Last week, the cavity bull named Scout — whose claim to fame was his uncanny they are able to balance almost anything on his head — passed away at 12 years old.

The viral sensation from Stuff On Scout’s Head had been pretty sick lately, combating diabetes, suffering from seizures, and even had a tumor removed.

On Tuesday, his owner, Jen Gillen , took to Instagram to reveal that her precious puppy had passed, posting an adorable image of the sweet pooch, and has broken the sad news in a lengthy caption, writing 😛 TAGEND

“Last Wednesday after a tough year in so far, Scout has passed peacefully. It’s taken a week for me to find the right wording to break the news and I don’t even think this does him justice. I wish you all could have given him a hug as a final goodbye, there would have been a line as far as the eye could see – I swear he was fuelled through the last few months by love entirely.”

She continued to detail his recent health struggles, adding:

“He had recently been retrieving fantastic and then suddenly he wasn’t doing well at all and he simply didn’t have the same opposed in him as before; he had come through some crazy circumstances all the while being fantastic, alerting staff in the hospital about other dogs, ricochetting back from surgery hours later to go for a stroll, shaking out his ear surgery buttons after the vet said to keep them in a bit longer, being the most behaved gentleman and a strong Viking of a pup this whole hour and STILL loved insuring all his friends in the vet up until the very last day.”

The mourning pet owner went on to honor her longtime companion and the memories they made together, saying 😛 TAGEND

“Without Scout I wouldn’t have had the chance to get to know so many of you and for that alone I am so thankful. He had a knack for bringing people together. Celebrate Scout’s life by saving one just like him; speak out about how barbaric and outdated Breed Specific Legislations are; kiss your Pitties on their snouts for us today; don’t judge a dog by their breed; recognize dogs up with a view to its adoption aren’t broken! I could have never met a more perfect dog for me. He was a poster dog for what I believed in, together we induced it possible to give back to causes I believed so strongly in. I wouldn’t be in such a good shape today if I didn’t have such an amazing crew of friends supporting me. It was the best little send off a Viking could have asked for. “
