Sen. Chris Murphy’s latest gun control tweet was inspired by an NBC News report on gun homicides, but followers didn’t take from the piece the same thing that he did — that more guns are making us less safe.
Allowing more guns in more places isn't making us safer. It's doing the opposite. https://t.co/JGtyzNPv7p

NBC News reports that “the CDC found a 31 percent increase in homicides involving firearms from 2014 to 2016” — so maybe look up Barack Obama and ask him about those numbers.
Just one thing …
The article admits this is a "bare bones" study using only death certificates. Let me help. Most are from suicide thats a mental health problem. The majority of the rest are committed by illegally obtained firearms in democratic controlled cities with high gun control laws. Wtf

To make that statement you would have to have information that is not included in stats in this article. What percentage of the homicides are due to people with guns in places they are legally allowed to have them at excluding home and car?

Guns don't even make the CDC Top Ten list of deaths @ChrisMurphyCT . Now who's spreading lies – NBC News and You. Do the research before you end up looking stupid.

It is clear that you didn't even read the link. Those homicides are not in legal carry areas. Those guns used are illegally used. That means more laws wont change things. #2A

Show stats for the homocide rates involving law abiding citizens. Why is it the Law Abiding citizens are the first ones taxed, the last ones considered, and the first ones punished. When was the last time a criminal underwent a background check? You sir, are an idiot

Would you kindly explain how gun crime has consistently declined since the 90’s even though gun ownership has nearly doubled?
