All hail Queen RiRi.

MTV just made an epic announcement about the Video Music Awards on August 28.

At the awards ceremony, Rihanna will reach legendary status and be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. GET IT, GIRL.

Last year’s recipient was Kanye West, and I’m sure you remember his acceptance speech.

The “Famous” rapper took the moment to announce his plan to run for president in 2020.It was also about truth and power and being yourself, so yeah, deep stuff.

Want to know the best part? Taylor Swift introduced him. GOOD TIMES! MEMORIES! FRIENDS!

This all happened before Kim Kardashian exposed the 1989 singeron Snapchat, so we’ll see what things are like this year.

All I know right now is theVideo Vanguard Award is a phenomenal achievement, and Rihanna should be very proud.

She’ll join a long list of names, from Beyonc to David Bowie and Madonna. I’M CRYING. RIRI, YOU’RE THE BEST.

Overall, she’s sold more than 61 million albums and 215 million tracks worldwide.

Most recently, Rihanna made headlines for her hit song “Work” and her collaboration with Calvin Harris for “This Is What You Came For.”

She’s also been killing her Anti world tour.

Rihanna’s music is up for Best Female Video and Best Collaboration at this year’s VMAs, too. It’ll definitely be a night to remember, especially for the 28-year-old singer.

Congratulations, Rihanna. You deserve it.
