Justin and Britney are both willing to collaborate and our jean jackets can hardly wait

The dream of the 90s is alive with Justin Timberlake. When E! News informed the superstar that his former girlfriend Britney Spears was open to collaboration, he was thrilled.

“Britney recently said she wants to collaborate with you,” a reporter told Timberlake. “Would you ever do that?”

“She did?” says a shocked Timberlake. “Sure! Absolutely!”

But don’t go dusting off your light denims yet. As Timberlake himself notes, he has a 17-month-old, and those are known to cut into the spare time you’d spend on musical collaborations with your exes. Three years passed between Timberlake’s two-part 20/20 Experience and the debut of his Trolls single “Can’t Stop The Feeling” in May 2016, and we know he’s spiritually obligated to hang out with Jimmy Fallon whenever time permits.

Meanwhile, Spears is tied up with a Vegas residency and just released Glory, her ninth studio album. She has two kids of her own to spend time with and makes killer TV cameos when she wants to, so we’re guessing her schedule is pretty booked.

Still, at least these two share our dreams. We’ll be over here singing “Cry Me A River” and “Everytime” in the meantime.
