Atlanta News Reporter Pays Homage To Phife Dawg In Traffic Report

Atlanta traffic reporter Mark Arum was “on phase” for his on-air tribute to Phife Dawg on Wednesday.

The WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News reporter paid homage to the late A Tribe Called Quest rapper by quoting some of his most notable lyrics during the course of its news station’s traffic report. “This rush hour is coming with more makes than the Braves or the Yankees, ” Arum said in reference to Phife’s verse on “Award Tour.” Next he revamped a line from the legendary rap group’s 1993 single “Oh My God” 😛 TAGEND

“One for the treble, two for the bass/ You know the style Mark McKay/ Time to flip this.”

The classic line is among Phife’s collection of unforgettable lyrics. Born Malik Isaac Taylor, the founding Tribe Called Quest member died on March 22 at the age of 45 from “complications resulting from diabetes, ” according to a family statement.

In addition to his creative tribute, Arum also posted a video clip on Facebook expressing his thoughts on the massive answerto his viral traffic report.
