Almost half of all heart attacks are ‘silent’

( CNN) Every 43 seconds, an American has a heart attack. Most people instantly recognise chest pain as a symptom of heart attack, but merely 27% of Americans are aware of all the major symptoms — and that means many are missing the signs of an actual heart attack.

A new analyse in the journal Circulation finds that almost half of all heart attacks may actually remain silent. And while men are more likely to experience them than females, females are more likely to die from these silent attacks.
