We’ve only got 13 episodes left of Game of Thrones, which begs the question, what the hell are we going to do when it’s all over?
Don’t panic just yet, there’s still plenty to look forward to, but for those who have spent the last six years working on the show it must be something that they are thinking about. The good news isshowrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have already given it some thought, and they seem pretty keen on a spin-off.
When speaking to UFC Unfiltered Podcast, the two said:
“One of the great things about what George RR Martin did is he didn’t just build a story he built a world. There’s so many characters and such a rich detailed history behind it that there are a lot of different ways you could go with it.”
“We just haven’t had time to really think through the details of it, because we’re so focused on just getting the show made. This is such a 24-hour-a-day job. Once we start thinking about any spin-off, we realise we have other things that are immediately pressing that we need to be thinking about.”
Don’t worry guys, soon you’ll have all the time in the world to be planning spin-offs. The big question is, what angle could they take? There could be a prequel, I would love to see something about the Mad King, just putting it out there.
If this does go ahead, we already have an actor in mind. Our very own Richard Gadd would be perfect and he even has an audition tape…
